This looks like midwinter but it was actually mid-April. I was not expecting to be treated to this display but found that weather in April in this region is extremely changeable. One day it is snowing and the next day it is 80 degrees.

Kolab Canyon is in the northwest corner of Zion. The entrance is off Hwy. 15, about midway between St. George and Cedar City. If you don't like crowds, this is the place to go in Zion as most of the visitors go to the south entrance. I highly recommend that you try to get to both.
