The Totem Pole and the Yei Bi Chei Dancers

I don't usually show two photos together but this is great example of how different the same sandstone formations can look viewed from a different angle and/or at a different time of the day. I was there in the morning and again in late afternoon. What a difference in the colors! The single tower is aptly named the totem pole. The other spires are called the Yei Bi Chei dancers. As you can see the view is entirely different from the two vantage points. If you have the chance to visit Monument Valley, I encourage you to cover as much area as you can. The views are great from the road but be sure to stop at all the view points even if you think you already saw everything from the road. You will be surprised at how the view changes in just a very short distance.
