Capitol Reef National Park in south central Utah is
stunning with its majestic towering cliffs, massive domes
and twisting canyons. You see all
shades of rock here, from dark reds and browns to orange, gold,
pink, white and even turquoise.
Capitol Reef is accessed on Utah Hwy. 24 which is
a beautiful drive in itself. It is still relatively unknow which
means it is not overcrowded. May is a wonderful time to go as the
wildflowers are out en masse and the weather is in the 80's but
still pleasant. There is a beautiful campground there - under the
trees and surrounded by the red cliffs.
